Historic "ZERO ENERGY" Restoration, Weston Massachusetts
This was a challenging project in that we wanted to attempt an all "green" restoration of a charming colonial revival, saving it from the bulldozers of other buyers with the goal of taking it "off the grid", a concept seldom achieved in new construction using modern construction techniques. We successfully transformed this circa 1935 colonial revival, preserving it's history while giving it the ZERO energy demands of the future! Sited on one of Weston's most beautiful scenic roads this home offers a view very much as it might have been when it was built. Some techniques were LED lighting, soy foam insulation, PV and Thermal solar, preventing thermal bridging, modern ventilation, knowing the dewpoint restrictions, and so much more....This home is certainly respectful of its history and of its future .....
